I thought there'd be a little improvement in season two but this is what I got. Shame on me for believing.
In my opinion, he likes the boy but doesn’t want to admit it, he is trying to convince both of them that he keeps him for the sex

He said that because he didn't want to admit to how he actually feels. He may not be feeling love towards Nakyum (half chance of this being unlikely) but he is probably feeling something along the lines of sympathy. He is just saying what he said because of how Nakyum has been acting.
Remember, though, that season 2 started not that long ago. You have to give it time for proper development. Both of them have gone through some shite and may not know what to think or feel, yet.
