i know the emperor is on everyone’s shit list

but i feel like we’re kind of just glossing over the fact that rurahel raped him. it’s like when women come out pregnant as a result of rape, there’s a very high chance they won’t want to keep the pregnancy. it’s a reminder of what happened to them. at least the emperor looks like he’s grown to love them because he wants to protect them. but like...this man was raped, and it sounds like whatever contract he was trapped in was pretty much blackmail. i understand why the kids still don’t like him since they have no idea of any of this, and hearing only the last part of what he said is misleading. but the audience is kind of concerning me now, he’s just as much a victim of rurahel as they are, and at least he’s trying here.

    I'm always for abortion.

But the children in this case are innocent. And the king made them indirectly pay for his suffering and it's unfair. (Neglect and he knew the women and how the nobility work so nobody can tell me he didn't know the childs were mistreated.)

He should have put an end to the pregnancy before but after the kids were born he had no right to threat them like he did. He have no excuses.

He suffered but the childrens are in NO WAY responsible and shouldn't have to feel sorry for him.
    They are chlids. :/

Yeah but he is a guy so his decision doesn't play into abortion. He got raped and had children with a woman he detest and you expect him to still love the children. Even some women who get raped and are forced to deliver can't stand the sight of the child yet you expect him to??? They are still a constant reminder of what happen to him. You shouldn't expect him to open his arms wide to welcome them. The fact that he is trying is good enough.

an abortion wasn’t his decision. rurahel had him under some contract that we don’t know the extent of yet, and she wanted to keep those children because she thought they were her ticket to a lavish lifestyle under the emperor’s money. he couldn’t really do anything short of just killing her when she was pregnant. we still don’t know how her contract had him trapped. all i’m saying is, the emperor is rurahel’s victim too. he left the children with rurahel because he thought she would care for them at the very least while she lived her new comfortable life, he didn’t realize she would abuse them. and to be fair, he probably didn’t want to think about rurahel or the kids more than he had to because of what she did to him.

he didn’t treat them badly. rurahel did. he left them with her because, sorry to put it bluntly, he probably didn’t want to see his rape children.

he’s taken them in now. maybe you don’t find his past neglect excusable despite his trauma. but at least he has his own valid reasons, and now he is trying to make up for it. he’s protecting them. he’s trying. he’s brought them into his hone and. sees them as family, as his children now. i just feel like now that the audience knows this they could cut the man at least a little slack. damn.

Still not the children fault. For every rape its not the children fault . Neglect is mistreatment. Like they are live that were brough in for bad reasons but they are here now. There is NO EXCUSE to neglect. He could have sent someone to check on them if he didn't want to deal with them or something but he did nothing. He can hate the woman all he want but the children are victims here too.

He knew they wouldnt be well traited because they aren't fully royal. So yeah even if he threat them better now his actions are innexcusable. And the two kids suffered 5 years of neglect and mistreatment they are unlikely to forget anytime soon.

And yeah i know its not the man decision for the Abortion it was just a general though i turned it wrongly sorry about that x)

Isn't that what the maids were there for. But they didn't do their job. That's not his fault. I mean you're right cause if you hire a nanny and they don't do their job . That not your fault but they are still your kids.
I just want to cut the guy some slack cause he's not that bad , he's trying. But trying doesn't mean a lot to many people.
