For the people in the comments, I think you all need to settle down. This is a work of fiction and this is an author's interpretation, and so the reader is also allowed to interpret the story as they like. Some of the labels and terms you are using to describe the person who asked the question are offensive and derogatory and nonsensical. You do not even know the person typing the question...why say something so horrible?
I do agree with the vast majority of the people in the comments who think the daughter should live, but in all honesty, I understand where the MC is coming from and I understand his motivations, and so I can also understand the perspective of the person who types this comment as well.
