Haejun is my baby too but I mean, you didn’t need to bring down Hyejin like that.
She still has scars from her first ever relationship and the fact that she likes the same guy scares her because she doesn’t want to hurt him again. She can’t bear hurt him again nor anyone else. That’s why she’s scared of relationship commitment.

I disagree with this on so many levels. Yes, Haejun is a nice, sweet guy, but this does not mean that Hyejin is obligated to reciprocate his feelings. Why must she love him just because he loves her?
To you, she may seem “stuck-in-the-past”, but the pressure she experienced in middle school clearly affects her a lot, and it’s easier said than done to simply get over it.
The talk that she had with Haejun was, in my opinion, a step in the right direction. It gave her some closure about the break-up and cleared up the awkwardness between them. Though she is still averse to the idea of dating, she clearly knows how she feels about him.
While there’s definitely room for improvement, I think she’s made more progress than you’re giving her credit for.
Hyejin really should end up alone and miserable. Haejun is such a nice, sweet guy that he definitely doesn't deserve to be treated like shit and he certainly deserves to end up with someone other than this stuck-in-the-past, still acting like a 15-year old foolish schoolgirl woman who can't see how lucky she is to have such a nice guy so in love with her.
