So basically Jaemoon and Ryan/Youngmin are cousins and while Jaemoon has always been more carefree/had more wiggle room in terms of career and was always praised by his family, Ryan had to stick to supporting the family business even if he didn’t want to Because of this he harbored some resentment towards Jaemmon about it. However, after he was saved by someone, he was so desperate to find him that he faked being attacked by Jaemoon so he would have a good reason to leave the company and pursue a different career. Desperation does crazy things I guess. Jaemoon didn’t say anything because he told Ryan he would help him. He’s by Jaemoon’s side now because he doesn’t hold any hatred towards him. That’s why he says “Why are you always the one suffering?” and such because he recognizes that he took advantage of Jaemoons kindness back then and that Jaemoon is the kind of person that always gives. This story also explains what kind of person Jaemoon really is (Remember when Jiyeon’s kidnapper told Jiyeon all about how dangerous his husband was and that he even attacked his cousin? Yeah this is the explanation that what the kidnapper said isn’t true).

but yea the flashback is just an explanation as to why his cousin acts like that towards him in the present. the adults keep comparing them its no wonder he started resenting him
