You’re right, but he seems to love her with all his heart. If you asked him if he’d wish she’d never been born, I don’t think he’d say yes. We can always imagine he becomes himself after his mother died. This is sad stuff, but it happens. We can only take comfort in the fact that he has someone by his side that he loves more than anything in the world.
Oh yeah. I honestly like how it shows two, kinda three, totally different parental opinions. The guy with an unaccepting parent, the guy with an accepting parent, and the guy with one of each, including one who later changes his tune because he realizes just how dumb he’s been. And then of course the two paths of either living true to yourself or living a lie to appease your parents of society. I love it because if you’re queer, you’re bound to relate to at least one of them, and that’s kinda brilliant.
