I thought so too. I thought it'd be crazy if Arima's hero was Taiga's dad.
The day Taiga's dad told him to go ahead to the hospital is the day Arima was rape. Before telling Taiga, you can see him looking over the fence somewhere and then going in that direction. Probably after that he ended up being late to visit during the following days because he had give his testimony or something like that.
