I wouldn't really say she counts as damsel in distress because she's never been kidnapped or put in life endangering situations. I think they are pretty close already but I'm glad to hear your open minded about it.
I think Jeanette isn't a densel in distress but more like an innocent kid. Except a little too innocent. Idk please correct me if I'm wrong

Idk why but its just funny because we got athy and her dad being very angsty and sad and next Jeanette is all i WanT dAdDy sO baD I WanT famILy giVe fAmiLy pLs. I'm sorry but right now Jeanette is way too naive for me so I can't like her. She reminds me so much of those dumbass girls in shojo mangas who needs a dude to constantly save them and protect them. Maybe later in the story she might have some winning points but not right now.
