i really feel bad for seth, he was babie :( he was so unselfish for letting go and i think that he did the right thing. i know everyone in the comments seems to root for seth and i get you why, seth does deserve to win but i just think that henry won't be the one to give him that win. henry tried his best to love, i give him credit even though sometimes it feels like he's leading on seth but we really can't blame henry because seth knows and he still dove right into the mess. but i do like that seth has choosen to let go because mind you, if henry does end up choosing seth even with his mind wandering elsewhere then seth would just end up having insecurities and get hurt. henry will always get hung up with on sam for the what ifs and the feelings that he had been trying to burry for a long time, you do know that henry met with other people right? even so, he still goes back to square one, right back into sam. you see how significant sam is for henry to even write things about firsts because he never seemed to get fully over the firsts of his own. and i'm plenty scared that will happen to seth too, he's such a wonderful person and he deserves a lot more, maybe a lot more than henry.


as for henry and for sam, i think their ending just went right. everyone in the comments rooted for seth but they also failed to mention how much longing henry has to go through for sam and that goes similarly for sam. when i read the comments first, i thought that sam really isn't worth it because everyone seems to dismiss him for seth (i can see why) but he actually deserves a credit of his own as well. yes it's true that sam realized at the wrong time just when seth appeared, a new chance for henry to move on, but sam wasn't even bad. he showed his sincerity in his own ways, he was patient with henry too, he waited. he didn't disturb henry because henry chose to see someone else and when henry went through something, he was still there, he didn't take that chance to hurt henry by staying away from him because we all know how sam's absense during the funeral could've impacted henry. you can argue that seth might've comforted him but it wasn't the same, sam was someone who henry tried to keep for the longest time even allowing the distance despite his yearning just so he could play safe with what they had so when sam went, having someone who he desperately wanted to kept right by his side is another level of comfort.


for henry, it's good that he chose to be truthful instead of running away because he could've missed his chance with sam. i'm quite satisfied with the ending, after all, all henry wanted was for sam to stay and he finally managed to overcome his fear of separation and bravely went along with sam so i'd say it's a character development. either way, i'm pretty much chill with who he will choose right at the end after all, there are two best boys fighting for him.
