The ex boyfriend broke up with the main character because the ex's father was getting sick - since the main char had been straight, the ex figured the MC should go back to seeing women rather than dealing with a long distance relationship with another man (I guess?).
Once the father died, the ex hunted the MC down, and that's where Chapter 2 begins.
