Chang's action didn't create catastrophe and only influencing some of Yeowoon's choices. Meanwhile the article of "Creed Schreiber = Glen McQueen" jeopardised and became the main conflict that brought story to its climax. This is why I categorize the person caused the jeopardy as the villain. (The writer of that article is most likely that black journalist).
I agree with some previous reviewers before me. You can blatantly see author's values of life and such in this story. The characters are American but how they solve the problem or how they view the problem are influenced by author's view. Author still sees porn film production as something disgusting and dirty. You can see this in how Creed address the problem. The author didn't even let Creed address how people felt used by his actions. They didn't let Creed solve that crucial aspect. Freedom of agency is crucial, JMD. This author introduced that briefly as a tool to create conflict. But tossed it away when the right moment is presented.
I mean so far Creed's porn film production didn't include trafficking, didn't have drug abuse, didn't have non consenting actors (except Ryan's time because of the biography), and no prostitution either. Also all shoots are taken by actors' consent. His porn film production is much much cleaner than the real thing in life. Creed's is like home made porno but with more money and crew. But the author deems that production is dirty, all in that production is dirty. It's dirty coz it doesn't follow the values that author holds so dear.
Please step down from your effing high horse, JMD.
Also yeah the villain is a black man. That's effing colorism and racism. Also about Jennifer, why does effiminate man equal to stupidity?
This story maybe seems progressive but actually it's not. I'm disappointed. Sorry.
