Exactly!! Alek has been the victim of child abuse and is still suffering mentally due to the snake clan. He may have approached hen with ulterior motive in the beginning. But he hasn’t actively done anything to harm anyone. He himself is in a very tight spot and most probably is mentally Unstable due to having to handle everything on his own while the clan tries to ruin his entire life’s work.
I hope author gives alek the happiness he deserves and finds him a suitable partner.
He was born with hate all around him and he didn't have a good example growing up to see what could be consider right or wrong.
In a way Alek did something fucked up to Ivan but he also made him realize the masks that his family members wear.
