well at that point all he knew about the twins was that they were weapons the witch was using to blackmail the emperor, therefore he could only see them as a threat. but obviously his feelings changed when he held arien for the first time, he couldn't kill them. I think I can forgive his first negative impressions of them given the circumstances.

but think about it, if he still didn't even slightly feel that way and/or if he harbored affection for them, he wouldn't (at least in my opinion) be able to think about much less say aloud that he wanted to do something in the past as cruel as killing them. i mean i can hate someone so much but if later on I feel either neutral or positive toward them i would not be able to accept (mentally) the fact that i used to hate them. u get what I'm saying??

I think the Emperor just needs to work on his communication. Because of their "royalty" persona. That they can't show emotions, even to his legitimate children. (Like he talks to them as if they're his soldiers, and not children) that he's unable to communicate his feelings. From the beginning, the twins has been trying to read vague actions from the Emperor. Maybe the older brothers are showing them better, but the Emperor needs to step up his game. Asap, cause our babies are leavin'

Well he wasn't really trying to remember it tho. Was he? It sounded to me, that he just reminisces the time caused him to abandon them. I thought he wanted to explain himself to the first prince. But got misheard as a "I THINK of them as such" rather than " I THOUGHT of then as such". You know? We all know he didn't do it on purpose, but he needs to be careful since "the walls have ears".
i completely agree with the twins, i mean seriously, even in private how could you say that you would have KILLED them if you could and not something like, it was not my will if they were born. like kill is such a strong feeling toward them. i would completely agree with the twins if they ditched the palace (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
