I get what you mean, i kinda expected noah to be there when rex woke up but let's wait and see what's behind Noah disappearence, maybe there's more behind it?
isn't the little sister that saw people get SHOT a reason enough to keep her away from it all? Noah went through it all, saw all kinds of sick stuff and now he finally can take proper care of his sister; if Rex's life was stable enough he probably escape to protect and calm his sister
