because she has no star to her one skill (tamer) which is in this world (from her view maybe, it could just be her village since she's still hidden) and apparently you'll become starless if you do something bad (according to the first chapter). I'm guessing this means something like murder or general heinous crimes idk. Not to mention most people have two skills and can have up to five, but she only has one skill with no stars. Which is why her family began to isolate and ignore her and then her father soon began to beat on her. So she lived on her own in the forest (with help from the village seer) But once the seer died she overheard her father talk with the village chief about her (MC) being starless meant she would bring misfortune and it was better off for her to die. So she's currently on the run, trying to live her life while also pretending to be a boy. Being a starless seems to be taboo or worth death (based of her current experience) so it's best if no one knows. Or at least that's how she's seeing it. I'd recommend reading the first 2 or so chapters for a refresh and sry for this insanely long reply lol.
No ur good I remembered her family and village treated her bad. Also that she dressed as a boy as a safety measure. I didn't remember the star thing tho.
