Maybelle fit the criteria. But he truly fell for Maybelle for who she is because he admired her perspective of the world
it will be explained further in season 2, but basically Bellerophon is dying because the emperor inserted an ancient beast into him and his mother as an experiment. Rykell became his guardian and sealed the monster, but it's not enough. 3 archmages (rykell and his colleagues) plus 1 swordmaster (Kyle) were needed to save him in the last arc of season 2 (we not counting maybelle and her other children here lol
and in the 3rd season Phon's flirting became more and more daring XD
