I totally agree with you. Yes we always like to see a strong FL but then again they are people too. She will obviously has some character development as well. That makes it even more realistic from my point of view, since the people I idolize now weren’t always their best confident self.
people use trauma as this huge blanket word and so they don’t really know what it’s affects are and what it does to a person, and every person is different. she might not be a strong FL but that’s okay, they don’t all have to be. her trauma hurts her, especially because she’s still living through it. she has undergone repeated physical, mental, and emotional abuse from the one person who is supposed to protect her from things like that. she’s been groomed, trained, and subjugated to become the person she is right now. these experiences and emotions are all she’s known for the entirety of her life. her reactions here are just as realistic as any other. if you don’t like a “weak” FL that’s perfectly fine, but i wouldn’t say she’s any less a realistic character right now because of that.
