Whenever there's a second lead in a shoujo manga, there's always the inevitable comments about the female lead's "stupidity" because Obviously the other guy likes her. However, as the reader, we see everything, the thoughts and feelings of other characters and other scenes that don't involve the female lead. She doesn't see everything, she doesn't hear the other characters' thoughts unless they Say Something! It isn't just her fault! She is experiencing romantic feelings at a young age for the first time! IRL, you wouldn't just assume someone has feelings for you unless they tell you! Don't blame this child for her lack of perfect emotional and psychological intuition!
