The MC isn't a bug; the being that created the universe she's now deliberately brought her. Because she's a video game programmer whose job was to fix video game bugs, the being decided she'd be best suited to fix the bugs in it's universe. So it basically kidnapped her from her universe and made her it's repair person.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the MC is a bug herself....technically she is but not at the same time. I'm just confusing myself at this plant
