This story drives me mad but all the main characters have too much pain in their life to function as normal humans. My advice, if you can put up with their imperfections then keep reading. If I were you, I'd better drop.
The whole story is not about romance but about this manipulative characters, and I find it's its strongest point - smart, cunning, conflicting, complicated characters. The story doesn't get "better", but it's doing its best in its own way.

Yes, I quite like stories like this. It's the reason I like classroom of the elite, I just don't like when they get too dark. Sometimes in stories like this you don't even have to like any of the characters. The story is good and really intriguing.

YEEES!! I totally agree with you! Or rather, sometimes I like how much I dislike some character lol. Like, he's bad but in a good way, you know. Immediately shows us how capable is the author.
But I personally like it when a story is more on a dark side. Not "tragedy dark", but just "dark dark" lol

Yeah, tragedy and horror is where I draw the line but I do like quite dark stuff.
