Yes I’ve read the raws. Should you choose to read ahead there’s a link in the comments. It’s easy to follow along for the most part. My dislike for the characters stems from this.

Mickey i can understand why, if you are talking about his homophobia. But he didn't go as far as to be called an overall shit person. (but it doesnt seem the bother Kai. Kai doesnt HAVE to stick to him)
And i dont see how you can be sure Alex is a shitty person if you couldnt read what happened. Especially in a yaoi, where author always adds overdramatic plots and characters.

but alex and Kai actually dated before college. Alex dumped Kai because he was worried about mickey finding out and hid the summer romance. He also had feelings for mickey the entire time him and Kai dated, it’s an unrequited love. Alex is shit for how he broke Kai’s part and strung him along and for the rest of the plot alex will back and forth between mickey and Kai especially when mickey and alex kiss later on. But mickey is also into mr. Frost and his theatre classmate (who’s also fucking someone else on the side) It’s a mess. I’m not just hating them for no reason
Well considering you couldnt understand what they are saying, it's possible there are details you missed that changes the whole thing. Or did some people made a summary for each chapter?(i know some people.do that for other mangas).
You got it wrong. Alex just considers Mickey a good friend. The reason he kisses Mickey is because Mickey gets confused when Sam kisses him to explain a scene in his drama where Mickey and the other main character kiss. So, Mickey is confused about his sexuality and to get a handle on it, he asks Alex to kiss him so he can compare and figure out whether he feels the same irrespective of who he kisses or because he likes Sam.
Now, as for Kai and Alex, yes, they dated before but the problem was that they didn't define their relationship. They both liked each other but neither was sure how the other felt. So 3 days before Alex left, Kai stopped going to meet him and refused to see him when Alex went looking for him, and then Alex gave up. Basically, both were scared that the other person would break things off saying it was just something casual and so chose to walk away themselves instead. They do end up together eventually. So you can definitely ship that pair.
while I’m glad about being wrong about mickey and alex I was quite sure mickey and Alex kiss more than once, and it’s implied Alex has some point did have feelings for mickey. But if you’re right that’s great one less angst headache.
I haven't read anything to indicate Alex liked Mickey in that way at any point. In fact, when a common friend says he and Mickey should just get together since they have been friends since childhood, Alex is gay, and Mickey most likely is too, Alex says something along the lines of, "Mickey thinks he is straight and I will take his word for it". So, I guess, he is just overly protective of Mickey.
Having said that, it's still ongoing and I haven't read everything. So, maybe...
You're very wrong with your interpretation, which just proves yet again how judgmental people can be by jumping to their one-sided and short-sighted opinions.
You're instantly lynching Mickey (and Alex), but did you stop to consider that with your harsh comment you actually resemble Mickey's character very much? Mickey, who is jumping to his short-sighted conclusions, is using overly dramatic wording to voice his displeasure? Mickey, who is lynching Kai without having full background information - just like you don't? :)

P.S. it wasn't Alex who broke Kai's heart, it was actually Kai who did it (due to his lack of self-confidence and other emotional baggage that he's carrying on his shoulders).
Mickey and Alex are both respectively shit people and deserve each other. I’m not Kai’s biggest fan because true his personality is the worst. But he deserves better, pining after a closest case and dealing with a homophobic hypocrite.
