it only affects each other if people of lower sanity decide to enact on scenes that are OBVIOUSLY not legal, nor a way to love another person

It's probably what they're into. If it would happen irl, it would probably be something like a roleplay that had consent from both people. Or, it's an easy way to get the story to the sex part without developing trust and consent. I don't really know
