Any bad thing that happens in your life needs to be dealt with. It requires therapy and support and personal growth through working on yourself, but to say the scars last a lifetime - that's up to the victim. Let it ruin your life, or not. that's the choice. You can't get over it by hating rape. You have to love your own sanity. There's something far worse than rape. letting the hatred of the mere idea of rape eat you up inside the way you're doing. Over-focusing on lack of forgiveness is morally wrong. You have to forgive yourself. Forgive life. Stop hating. Ma friend, humans have emotions. If you experience violence it’s only natural to feel the grief and to be angry. It’s okay to be sad and have all this emotions. What is not okay is to shame survivors to feel emotions that any human being would feel in the same situation. Maybe you never experienced abuse or violence, but it’s not black and white, it’s not simple and it can last a life time the consequences, so please, respect that.

Well, I think it’s always the place. Also, the author can benefit from different opinions. A lot of people in the post are saying that rape is not necessary to make a story interesting, that’s all.

Lack of forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean the presence of hate. Nobody should be pressured to forgive their attacker. When somebody does something so terrible it dramatically changes your life, it's okay to say "No, I don't accept your apology. I recognize you've given one, but I don't accept it." You don't have to hate them, but as the victim you shouldn't feel obligated to forgive them.

you could be a little more humble about an artist benefitting from your opinion. You're not an artist. You don't have the mind of an artist or the same sensibilities.
Also, you do not get a say in what makes a story interesting. It's not your story to write. Surely you must see that.
When you write and draw your own story, which is a task most people aren't up to, including a non-artist like you, then you can preach a lesson in how rape is not interesting. You don't have any place trying to lean on an author to make their art the way you want it to be.
