You shouldn't assume so quickly but sadly i was manipulated and used by everyone i knew that's why i recognize that type of people so well . But like you said most people do manipulate and that makes the ones who use others and the one that get used , it still somehow triggers me to read it was he even gay or was he lead to be one , the question remains
Did you literally not read the inner dialogue of wanting to control the uke after ONE, one night stand or the fact when he was being ignored he repeatedly contacted him to wear him down. The guy is exhibiting toxic behavior. It’s framed as sexy because he has a commanding presence and has self assurance only deemed attractive because he’s physical attractive, but up till now he’s belittled and undermined someone’s unresolved sexuality as if just because he wants to sleep with his intended target he as a right to evaluate a total stranger’s self worth, sexual experience, and sexual orientation. Meanwhile fully knowing how homophobic Japan is. It’s unsurprising people like this type of character but when someone points out the “reality” of such a character there’s nothing wrong with that. You can still enjoy a fictional character and still acknowledge their problematic behavior. It’s this type of encouraged willful ignorance that lets people internalize this behavior as harmless when it can be alarming or worsen down the line should they encounter it. We have wayyyy too many examples of this.
Same here. I pretty much can tell when people approach me with an objective. But it's frustrating when they didn't even realize that they were actually using others.
Dude exactly what i was thinking. Good thing someone here has an understanding of how toxic a predatory behavior is and as long as the character is attractive most readers will turn a blind eye .i actually noticed it's becoming a pattern for author to reflect whatever distorted image they have of how a relationship can develop and romanticize it in a way that's appealing , it's like japanese women (i don't mean to stereotype) are always inventing ways to victimize themselves through their work of fiction too smh
Things are gotten mighty hot and heavy here for some reason. I have a moderate level of endurance for toxicity and this amount is still considerate mild for a fiction standard. If you want to take it to reality, that is a whole different discussion that probably better done in a chill room since things burns way to easily.
