What beautifully bittersweet ending. Throughout the story is was evident that the FL and ML were more than lovers or husband and wife - they were soulmates. Which is a more powerful bond in my view. Despite both having callous and ruthless personalities, their devotion and love for each other was paramount and transcendent through time and space.
