He’s probably just protective of his best friend. I mean I know from my friends that they always want to know what I’m doing especially when I meat new people because they are worried about me that’s what good friends do they want to know what’s going on in your life
I get being protective/curious about new people but he was being way too hypocritical even the mc saw it.
If you saw your best friend getting out a big fancy car with a scary looking dude inside wouldn’t you worry?
Curious? Yes but not worried. Especially when it seemed like my friend was well acquainted with said person. If I askes who's that and they said "just a friend I met". I'd be like that's cool and leave it at that. They are their own individual and have a right to have relationships they dont want me to intrude upon/are not ready to tell me about.
I guess you and I have different mentalities when it comes to people/friends and thats ok
Then you obviously don’t care as much about your friends then others because sometimes people can’t reach out to their friends directly when their in trouble because they are ashamed. A friend is curious but a best friend wants to know if you are doing well because they see you as their own family

Also you blatantly ignored the fact that his best friend wouldn't tell our mc about his acquaintances and brushed it off but was demanding to know mc's. Im not sure why you are trying to turn this into a personal problem
His friend is being a bit too possessive.Also what was that excuse when mc called put his hypocrisy "Ive gone out with many girls".
