i wonder why they didn’t tell rei who his dad was? i guess it was because he’s gay but they could’ve just told him they weren’t together?? i would much rather have parents that aren’t together than not knowing who my dad is

Maybe it was difficult to tell cuz he didn’t want Rei to bear the responsibility to having a gay dad. In Japan homophobia is pretty intense and kids get bullied for having any relations to a gay person (which is sad) and so he probably wants Rei to avoid any scandal. Also because Rei was kind of an accidental child so he probably dudn’t want to see his son sad by any means.

yeah but they didn’t have to tell him he was gay. the parents could’ve just been “separated”. instead he has to live with never knowing who his dad is. my parents have never been together in my life and i’d much prefer that than not knowing who my dad would be

because apparently in this story get your dick wet is more important than building a relationship with your son. but hey at least it's as close as you'll get to a familial bond screwing your son's best friend in secret, that's a relationship way more important.

i'm glad this is fictional because he's a shit person.try explaining to any rational person this thought process, and homophobia's got nothing on how quickly he'll find himself a pariah from even the neighborhood stray dog.
