he remembers some scenes by heart since the story was very important to him, but since he read the whole story he got a skill that allows him to remember specific chapters word for word. It's a lot more in depth in the novel lol.

plus he has a text copy of the novel and with his skill he can read through it pretty fast

it isn't revealed in the beginning that he had it it was something he remembered later on when he was having trouble remembering something and decided to reopen the email from the author (that was when he discovered he had the only text version in the world) I don't remember exactly when he remembered it but thats how it happened in the novel
