These characters are just so...Changing. Barley any of them actually have exact personality. Like in the beginning, Chloe was scared all the time and disliked Alexander for what he did to her. She acted like he was the worst person alive and she had to avoid him at all costs. Alexander seemed like a bitch. She apparently suffered a lot of trauma by him and then suddenly she starts praising him and such in newer chapters calling him nice and acting like he's a great person when he literally threatened Chloe if she didn't cure his horse. Not to mention he almost had her killed and did actually kill her half sister in front of her. It just gets me that the characters never stick to one or the other. Like he called her confident recently even though she shivers often and gets scared by being near him. And she called him a nice person even though he treats the dukes daughter, His father, and those poor other ladies with zero respect. Like, He's such an entitled bitch. I understand he doesn't like woman and that his father is at fault but he doesn't have to be so rough towards them. He's like so overly aggressive and hateful towards them. They only did what was ordered by thr count who was misinformed. I don't get why the characters keep acting like they know each other so well yet totally miss their personalities while talking about someone else. Oh and, This plot isn't all that original..It's like "A Capable Maid" "Doctor Elise" and "A false confession" all in one. It's just..Odd. And I don't get why Chloe thinks he'll notice her. She should be more confident and act different if she doesn't want yo get caught. Freaking out when she seems him will only raise suspicion. Anyways, This isn't dropped yet but I just noticed these annoying plot points.
