And I think His/Her (The author) goal here is for us to feel disgusted in pedophilia and at the same time He/She wants us to respect the LGBTQ. The author also want us to just be proud ff ourselves and do not let their (ppl) judgments bring you down.

its really confusing what the author wants to feel but i think the fact that she romanticize their relationship was done on purpose to make us feel even more disgusted
