Kai got pissed and goes off on their asses. He protected alicia and made them apologize to her.

The uncle and the princess probably planned to send Alicia away long ago, it's easier to manipulate Kai without his big sis so close to him. They just don't know that Alicia has Ares support, so even if she is expelled from the palace, Ares can still play as the sibling messenger.
And of course, I'm just waiting for the princess shock knowing that ML plans to marry our dear Alicia.
