The re-growing hair itches. It scratches at the skin and tries to push through the skin to grow more (in-grown hair). It's a bit itchy as a woman but you get used to it.

For me it's really uncomfortable to have pubic hair. So cleaning the area is like heaven. I realize now after reading these replies that I'm very lucky it doesn't itch for me
