It's tiresome at this point. When fellow people of color whether Chinese, Japanese or Koreans among others buy and actively sell harmful stereotypes created by white media about Africa, it sucks big time. The same narratives are also present about POC. You know like how some white character in a movie gets some disease and they start asking where they have been, then it's like, 'Oh I went to China in such and such dates?'. It's absolute hogwash. So I wish we all understood that perpetrating harmful stereotypes does not free you of the same. It never will. Neither does looking down on an entire continent full of the most beautiful cultures and warm, welcoming people. I hate it.
