So my understanding is that the ML decided to change a guys fertility sample with his own so that this guy could adore and raise the kid as his own just so he could one day show up and try to take the kid back? That is absolutely shitty (even more so, the scene where he considered getting rid of YiYi’s sample). There is so much more to parenting than just offering DNA. This guy has busted his butt taking care of this kid and put so much of himself into being a good dad and he just wants to come and take the kid?


Legit in the United States, this would be almost impossible—to just come out of nowhere and try to take a kid. Even if the kid were biologically his, once a birth certificate is forged and the parent named and/or adoption is legally established, you can’t just come back and take a kid claiming it’s yours. Even if it is biologically. A judge would also have to physically rule you custody so the whole “my secretary already transferred custody over to me” wouldn’t fly either. You would have to undergo serious checkups to ensure you are the best choice for the kid—which ultimately entails way more than just money, which is why tons of rich guys lose majority custody of kids when they divorce their wives
