that's one way to look at it but others would call it "cowardice" she's a very prideful person. no way would she settle for a win people could so easily overlook/dismiss it as a flook or dirty trick, rather then by genuine ability.
I wouldn't be satisfied with that for her character either after everything she put into her swordsmanship.

I can admire your strong feelings towards the characters as a fan, but you're getting serious over what was more or less joking/teasing commentary. (=・ω・=)
Also, if you like strong female characters have you heard of a series called "god bless you"? it's about a professional female fighter who dies & gets reincarnated into a fantasy world as a pretty noble lady (she definitely looked like a dude before--and not at all cute in any way). she saves the ML's life like three times in the 1st few days after they meet.
And another one is "Beware of the Villainess!" with this lady Melissa aiming to beat the crap out of the obsessive male leads--it's so fun to read!! (≧∀≦)
if you haven't already, you should check them out if you're bored.

I only say it because surpassing arhad and getting stronger was sort of a main goal for our MC from the start, she worked so hard.. and she sacrificed so much. it would be frustrating if she didn't beat him in a situation that could easily be dismissed as a mere flook, or him holding back. with how much care the author put into this motivation of hers, I want to see her get that fair win, above all else. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants this for her though. I understand the OP was just making cute joke, I wasn't angry when I said it or anything no worries~ I haven't read the manga you listed but I'll be sure to give it a try, thank you! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Just tell him you love him while fighting im sure he will lose easily hahaha
