I think it was because he was so closer to her. He realized it after she looked at him. And her eyes could've been colored darker to portrait the damage the healing did to her.

i honestly don’t think he was scared, instead probably surprised. her eyes were fluttering, so maybe he’s surprised/shocked because of his feelings towards her ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
Yup that’s what I was thinking as well. He was shocked by how close he was to her that had a kind of “look away from my crush or I’m going to blush moment”.
I guess she had more of a "womanly" or "mature" look to her and thats what made him uncomfortable.

Okay so can someone tell me why Emel was so scared of Estelle when he saw her eyes?? Like what’s going on?? Her eyes seem to be getting darker however that could be because she was just bleeding from her eyes.
