I think it’s partially because Makoto has had a life where everything is interchangeable. If a client gets bored, they move on and there’s nothing you can really do about it but find the next person willing to pay big money. Something like that probably had an effect on his psyche, so to him it isn’t “wrong” that Maki found someone new it’s just a “fact of life”

i’m confused. he didn’t get jealous when he potentially got “cheated on” and simply brushed it off, saying he would just find another client.. that doesn’t sound like love to me :/ he would at least be a little upset, right? otherwise they’re just fuck buddies
