Except the MC isn't from a historical era, she's from the 20TH CENTURY. Had the author simply made this a pure palace drama with an era appropriate MC that would have been one thing. Even if the MC had been playing along just to survive and flourish, THAT would have been fine. But it's also a romance, which means the MC and ML are suppose to be in love and the audience is suppose to root for that love. Morover it's a transmigration story with a modern MC. So what's stupid is that this modern MC with modern values supposedly immediately accepts this polygamy set up and falls in love with this weak willed, polyamorous puppet emperor ML.

Like your said this character is transported to the PAST, the ml is a character from the PAST. So even if the the FL is modern she is in an Ancient setting. So if you say its a wuxia romance, I am not going to expect the ml to not have other female attachments. It just wouldn't be reasonable. And my complaint was the "Shock and Anger" at the polyamory. And here is another point rooting for the romance for the two doesn't mean to complain about an obvious historical fact that would be in the story BECAUSE of the era of time it's set in. And just because the author wrote it in the year 2020 doesnt change the fact that story itself is set during ancient china.
If i have to see another inane comment bitching about the emperor having more than one wife I will freaking flip!! Clearly none of you understand the "historical" part how the heck do you write about an "emperor" and not have him have concubines or consorts. Thats like asking for a historical with no palace intrigue. Stupid! You are whining with 20th century knowledge and privilege with a story set in ancient china...what?! Urrrrrgh (/TДT)/
