The host of the system doesn't mean the parent of the system. It would make sense for the host to evade bad situations because alters generally are created to deal with particular trauma.
So I watched video explanation about billy Milligan (someone who has DID).
Billy has 24 personalities, and one of his personalities is called "teacher".
"Teacher" acts as a gatekeeper, who can share memories with other personalities.

the host is just the alter that fronts the most and the one that doesnt hold many traumatic memories so they can function in life properly so i think kazuha was kinda of the protector alter cuz he came out when his dad started shitting on rei so honestly it makes a lot of sense that rei is the host and i really had my suspicions that he was when yuuma said no alters had come out for two weeks while rei was fronting..
I understand all that but we'll from my point of view usually the personality that comes out less is the host (speaking of Mangas) and well Mika is very suspicious, not in a bad way but more like he takes knowledge from the other alters and is very understanding of all of them that's why I hope Mika is the host that way if they merge together neither Rei nor kazuha are going to be chosen or rejected, like.... Yuma could get to know the whole person and not just some of his alters that comes out depending of the situation, like that he can like him completely and stop tormenting himself for choosing just Rei, because let's be honest if this keeps going kazuha it's going to keep getting hurt if he doesn't merge with the host, and maybe he will interfere with their relationship hahahaha
but... you do realize DID is a real thing? Not just in manga? I'm pretty sure this author is trying to make it as accurate as possible, so the host is probably Rei.
I know it's real and I get you, but this isn't the first Manga that I read with this topic, that's why I think that even if Rei is the more realistic and accurate choice for the host the autor still can make it for them all to merge, like you know why he has dissociative problems, it all reside in his childhood upbringing, so maybe if he can be on terms with his past and accepts himself wholeheartedly then maybe he wouldn't need any other alter to keep on facing such things, like kazuha it's there because he hopes that if he behaves like his father would like to maybe then his father would accept and love him, while Rei really doesn't care about his dad and just want to make sure that Yuma loves him...
So that's why I (in my personal opinion) would like Mika to be the host, like he's waiting for them to realize what's it that they really need in order to be satisfied before merging like the others just did and then after they all merge their needs and everything would be shared and satisfied as everyone had the chance to go out and seek out what they needed and wanted to have, I don't know if I make sense with this hehe
But well I understand that some people are seeing this from the psicologycal point of view, and I also like it, it's very interesting and educative to, but... Let me dream please!! Hahahaha I juts want them all to be accepted, and this love triangle it's sad so I just don't want Rei to be the host hahahaha I want it to be Mika so Rei and kahuza become one and Yuma choose them both (or all) without leaving anyone out!

I don't particularly wanted Kazuya or Rei to be the host but now that kazuha said he's not the host even after reading the notes of the translator....
I don't know I really find it pretty weird that Rei is the host, from my point of view I think that he's also an alter, because he's like the opposite of kazuha, he gets defensive when he interacts with his dad and also he's like the assertive and sarcastic personality that evades the physical or emotional harm...
I still think that Mika is the host, he's the only one who hasn't appeared in front of Yuma and he seems to understand the necessities of each personality so...
Yeah, maybe when thay all merge together they will share everything like they will mix and keep all their memories and experiences... Not just merge and disappear like it seems that just happened with all the other ones...
