really? well i guess, to me when i was reading i felt like he had always loved her but never really shown it outright. He wanted a wife more than a "colleague" but the queen was trained to be the perfect empress so she never thought love and affection as a duty as much as she did her job as a queen. Which caused her to not realise she actually loved the king till much later...there were also a few times when he indirectly expressed love or thought to himself in regards to Navier


and also i thought a key part to his dumb plan was when he revealed why he believed Navier was infertile and how he intended for the bastard child to be accepted in society first before Navier was reinstated as Empress again. Therefore making them a legitimate royal family or some shit when she came back. EITHER WAY his foresight was terrible and im team heinley all the way lol uwu

Yup. Team Heinly all the way but from what I read in the novel, Sovieshu's thoughts and behaviour are very inconsistent. He wanted a more romantically inclined relationship? Guess what? She was his childhood friend and he should have shared it with her. The flaw I find with this thought process is that he seemed to be okay with humiliating and belittling navier in public when it came to rashta. He wronged her on many occassions knowing everything. He didn't want a wife instead of an empress, he just wanted someone who made him feel good about himself and boost his ego by needing him all the time for every little thing and he got the ego boost from rashta. Navier couldn't be totally dependent on him as that would make her useless as an empress and he didn't want that either. If it had been something as simple as wanting a more intimate relationship, he could have discussed it with navier and tried to work on their relationship but instead he chose the easy way out.
The matter with the child frustrated me even more because he concluded that she was infertile all on his own without discussing anything, like the coward that he is. Instead of facing the truth that his childhood mistake might have made them both infertile and discussing it with his spouse and trying to find a solution for it, he chose to escape and cause his partner a lot of pain and humiliation. Don't even get me started on how he even exiled her brother on false charges. He divorced her because he was sure of her infertility and made rashta empress to give legitimacy to his child but wanted navier to wait for him because he wanted a wise and able empress for his kingdom all the while enjoying his life with rashta and her baby. In my opinion, he was never in love with anyone, he was only in love with himself and wanted everything but in the process, lost everything. He blames rashta so readily but he was aware of everything yet still chose to hide it anyway. He wronged so many people just so he could get a legitimate heir to his throne and so he could have an ego boost and that came back to bite him in the end. In my opinion, he is a selfish coward and is worse than rashta because he inflicted pain and suffering on his loved ones for his selfish motives and expected loyalty and love while not offering anything but betrayal in return.

okay TRUEEEEEEE some parts of me wants to believe he loved her but whenever he just baselessly defends Rashta and accuses the empress. I really wanted to strangle him through my phone lol.

there were multiple times i didnt even want to continue reading bc of his dumb thought process and how he goes about handlings things. And omg yes. Exiling her brother was one. Finding fake noble parents was another even tho he's supposed to hate it bc his father did it as well. Not admitting his fault in stealing the poisoned cookies and then pushing the blame to Navier about being infertile? LMAO LOWKEY I THINK HE WAS THE INFERTILE ONE cos the child ratsha has is probably 100% commoner...

omg and the one that made me super made was when i thought mckenna died and he served him on a platter to Navier...LIKE?!??!

i was so happy when the divorce when through and Navier pulled an uno reverse and he became so mad lmfaoooooo

I've been wondering if Navier is truly infertile (it does not matter but if she's not and that bastard king is just saying shit-) and you said, "Instead of facing the truth that his childhood mistake might have made them both infertile" made me curious. What happened?

I'll give you a little more detail so read only if you want more spoilers
The previous empress got cookies for the concubine so that she would become infertile and child sovieshu got his hands on them without knowing what they were. He then ate them along with his best friend who was Navier which is why as an adult, he strongly believed that navier was infertile and because it could have been possibly caused by him, he didn't reveal it and neither did he make an active effort to get the problem treated.
Now coming to whether navier was really infertile, it isn't clear. She could have been and it was also possible that she wasn't infertile at all. It was a possiblity due to which Heinly got a magic bed so that even if she is infertile, it would cure her and help in conception. This is what pisses me off so much. She was either never infertile in the first place or she could have been easily treated had Sovieshu dealt with the problem like an adult and discussed it with his wife and sought medical/magic treatment/solution because she got pregant a little after she got married to heinly.

Oh my God that man- How could he do that?! I understand making a mistake as a child, but own up to it once you're an adult! I'm actually pissed. Someone said the reason he did all of this with Trahta was for a child but he could've treated her condition. Tbh I'm glad he did all with bullshit because now Navier is with Heiny~ (and ahhh they have a child ervbufevhfeni)

Exactly my point. Sovieshu, imo, doesn't deserve any pity because he never tried and just looked for the easy route. People tend to forget all these details when they see him crying and desperate about his broken relationship with navier but he deserved everything he got and more because he did it all to himself despite being aware of everything. You'll see what I'm talking about as the story progresses.
