Rhetorical question: Were you abused at such a young age? Did you also forget their souls come from another world, so they literally have nobody else to depend on except for the person and people who gave them life? For what, 8 years (basically all their life), they believed their father abandoned them. You think it's easy to suddenly backtrack on your thinking about your family you've known for 8 years?
Fact is, the children aren't stupid for still loving their abusive parent. They gave them other niceties and even allowed them to live abeit through abuse. Their father didn't even try to send spies or anything to know whether they were still alive. Both parents are shitty, one dumb and one a manipulative asshole. Still, you can love both, just one a little less because they were missing until what, a few months ago (in their time) compared to their whole lives?
I meant the emperor is stupid...
Obviously you can't shake parental love that easily
I know that too
My father is dead, I barely knew him and yet I love him so stop lecturing me
But I think it's weird that outsiders like the emperor and the brothers would think that
I feel like most people would assume that an abused person wouldn't want anything to do with their abuser not the contrary like the emprero just did
I'm sorry that that happened to your family. I know it can be a great deal of pain, and you should always know he is there watching over.
However I am not lecturing you about loving your parents after one is gone (unwillingly). I am talking about families who parents either filed a divorce or their parent walked out on them intentionally. It is hard to love someone, even your own parent, who has intentionally abandoned you and given up trying to save you from a dangerous person.
I apologize for misinterpreting your post.
The emperor's way of thinking, however, is reflected in some of the comments on this webtoon. It doesn't seem like it's common practice to sympathize or empathize with someone who has been abused, so the connoisseurs of webtoons complain about how they flip flop in maturity, not realizing the effects of abuse.

I'm sick of characters that are supposed to be smart that come to THE STUPIDEST conclusions
In what world would kids abused by their mother since birth miss her?!!
Wtf is wrong with his reasoning
