Does anyone know why the manhuas or Chinese webtoons are allowed to show clear depictions of LGBT intimacies, romantic scenes or love scenes with white blurs while the animated version can't show anything close???
I've read that while being queer is not illegal in China anymore, showing clear depictions of gay characters is, so I believe that's why the animations and the series has little to no romance between the protagonists
Depiction of gay relationships is indeed illegal and shows that attempt to ignore that law will be taken down immediately. Comics on other hand aren’t as main stream so as long as comic readers don’t start flaunting it to the public they can go relatively unscathed.
