I don't understand people. Are you reading the manhwa to enjoy or you just want an ending that is different from how other yaoi mahwa ends. This mahwa is different. Most yaoi stories where the main guy ends up with the mc contains rape, blackmailing, manipulation sometimes even violence. But this is different. There wasn't any rape and others here. All their mistakes are relatable. There is more to "it's just a predictable ending"

It's very rare to see ML who admits to his mistakes, apologises, who actually grows up and matures and not who let his love interest go (not persuading him to come back).

Very rare. Jowoon realised his mistakes, apologised and stayed away which most ML don't do. They apologise and still continue to pester the MC. I am very sure he is ready to let go of haesoo because he thinks that is what will make haesoo happy. How is that toxic.

Many MLs don't apologise for anything
And if MLs change it's often literally overnight change and about 180 degrees.
In Jooown's case it's slower process ( what's more he still is recognisable, not completely different person), he let his love go which is very, very rare and he is seriously reflecting on his behaviour and actions.
