??? He did indeed notice that. He couldn’t do anything about it, like killing the Duke or he’d be punished. Also, the empress did grow more greedy, and this is when the Duke took the chance to manipulate her. That is why he put aside his feelings and decided to do good for the country..

i see where ur coming from but his only option didn’t have to be to kill the duke. even then if he had such undying loyalty and noticed that duke fez was behind the scenes manipulating her and further creating her into a tyrant i would think he would care less about the consequences in order to save the empress from further descent into madness ??? also sorry but i don’t remember seeing anything about him noticing that. it’s very weird how he just decided to continue to trust that the empress would naturally come to her senses by herself??? yeah she may be strong and all powerful but after experiencing years of war then coming back to have some duke manipulate and use drugs and alcohol on you would change someone..... so even if he noticed he chose to remain a bystander and for what?? consequences? the worst consequence would be death for him but it seemed like he was loyal to the point he would die for her. i guess not huh

Ahh... I see.. He was also in love with the empress, so it was a hard pill to swallow to think that the person he once loved had become corrupted... So maybe that is why he took a while to actually to something?
