It is also kind of a bit late for that. Had it been earlier in the story, I might have sympathised with it, but not now, not when I want to know what has /will happen to Suu and Sahara

me too. at this point, Jin's backstory is just filler for what happens to Suu and Sahara. What happens to Suu and Sahara is more exciting at this point in time.

Yeah, Suu and Sahara are on the brink of death, maybe. What will happen to them? How will they get out of this situation. What will Jin and the consort do? This is the worst time for filler episodes! Argh!
At this point, I just speed read when Jin's backstory is told since I'm more interested in the present and with Suu.
Now if the story focuses more on Suu's foreign origins... THEN I'd probably be interested and savor the reading more.
Jin's sob story and backstabbing brothers are just...meh. Expected. Nothing exciting to read about since it's the typical palace stories about cut throat people.
