I think this is meant to be a satire and comedy on many levels- for a good laugh :3

I guess you're right lol. I tend to turn off my brain when reading these type of stories to enjoy them but I guess I forgot when I read this one.
There's something about this that's been really bothering me and I can't pinpoint what. Is it the ML having no substance at all?? That can't be it, we're only at chapter 7 so his personality isn't laid out more or maybe is it the way that the OG heroine is manipulating Ripley to be her friend by insulting herself to make Ripley feel bad because honestly, that's a red flag in many relationships???
