The fiancee (Yuri) actually is doing everything deliberately. Her mother was a spy from a rival kingdom, however she fell in love with a baron and decided to defect. She got pregnant with Yuri, but the baron threatened to reveal her spy status if she didn't leave. Yuri and her mom ended up living in poverty and were looked down on because her mom was an unmarried woman with a child. Later on her mom got severely ill. Around that same time, Yuri found out her father was a baron and she went to him to beg him to give her money to buy the medicine that would save her mom, but he refused. Yuri realized that baron had only thought of her mom as a plaything, even though her mom loved him so much and threw away everything for him. Her mom died. After that Yuri developed a deep hatred for (1) men, (2) nobility/royalty and (3) the entire kingdom as a whole. She thinks love is fake and whoever falls in love loses and wants to destroy the kingdom. That's why she seduced the second prince and tried to ruin the royal family's relationship with the FL's dukedom. She knew that doing it would weaken the prince's power and also spark dissatisfaction among the nobles. She's deliberately trying to destabilize the kingdom and the idiotic prince is playing right into her hands.
In the end, Yuri ends up in jail after he plans are found out and its discovered she'd been spying for her mother's original kingdom. The second prince truly loves her still despite everything and wants to get her out. He goes to visit her in the dungeon and while he's there a guard attacks her. The second prince shields her with his body and dies. Yuri realizes that the second prince had really truly loved her and she regrets.
Also, the first prince fakes his death so that he can escape his position and instead marries Iris, who officially becomes Duchess. Everyone in the dukedom talk about Iris' commoner husband who serves as her right hand aid.
The person who becomes the rules of the kingdom is the prince's sister, Lettie!
Thanks for the spoiler. I have mix emotion to this. What happen to the queen tho? I'm glad that the first prince leave his royal life for the FL. They deserve a peaceful happy life together.

Well that's disappointing... I hoped the prince hate Yuri later and kill her or something and hoped the other Prince Marry the FL and rule the kingdom.
So happy that everything actually works out! especially with lettie , who is basically like Iris! She is so deserving to be a QUEEN!!!
