Not his eyes but his whole body is cursed. Anyone who looks upon him sees and smells a horrible monster. The only reason why the MC doesn't think the same in the first chapter is because she got some object or something that helps her see his true face.
Is his eyes cursed or what? He is definitely looking at his reflection in the water so he should know what 'hideous' really look like.
And, in the first chapter, even though they are both grown up he is still thinking that he is 'hideous'. Does that mean that the FL didn't told him the truth when he saw his face for the first time?
That would kinda mean of her, so I hope she did told him but he didn't believe her because of some traumatic past or a cursed.
