I get you can do that but long term that isn’t healthy for her body. It would break down. Plus that 0.5lb a day is usually just water weight or losing muscles. It’s just like those idols who starve themselves for two weeks to lose like 10lb. It’s dangerous and I don’t think you should do it or promote it to others.

Elimination diet is a trial and error diet meant to slowly test food items one-by-one with no calorie counting. I had to do it a few years ago for depression/thyroid health. Apparently food sensitivities can interfere with hormones as well cause weight gain so my doc had me do this. Lost a lot of healthy weight, eating more food than I did before and never felt better. Found that Cruciferae vegetables like broccoli interfere with my thyroid and that im super sensitive to high salt (gain 2ib overnight after brined porkloin dinner). Symptom for testing thyroid food sensitivity involved weighing and taking temp every morning. Body temp legit drops if food interferes with thyroid.
Much weight is water weight caused by inflamation. Elimination diets are usually planned with a nutritionist and are meant to help find food sensitivities with benefit of weight loss. Most common sympton of inflamation is weight gain (other symptoms include headaches, lack of energy, mood swings, etc). Eat something your body doesnt like and and you swell a bit up to a few pounds that takes a couple days of clean eating to lose. This type of weight comes off quick if you cut out the problematic food items (~.5ib/day) but most people are unaware especially if its a "healthy" food item like salmon and continue eating it.
Things I found. My body is a wimp with wheat based carbs/salt, broccoli/spinach mess with my thyroid, my body has no issues with fried foods or sugar. Eat all the buffalo wings and candy but certain veggies and pork are out to kill me. Bread and dairy were fine in moderation (measured by amount not cals).

Thanks you all guys I learned so much from this post!! Ive been trying to diet but I’m following the hard, long, extremely tiring route where I eat healthy -and not overeat- and building cardio -cuz running kills me still, so no exercises for me there, not until cardio can back up-. Im not obese but I’ve been lazy all my life so my cardio is sh*t jaja. But I have a question, if you lose weight that fast, wouldn’t there be lose skin hanging out in some parts, for some periods of time?

I have seen that happening to people usually around stomach area. Although no further info on if that goes away by time or not. But one thing for sure, if you loose fast you gain fast. Because whatever less amount of food you are eating your body will start storing it. As one doesn't eat as required. So in long term that is big mess up. I know a friend who does that, and she is endless cycle of gaining weight and losing it with quick diet.

Yes, do not yo-yo diet. If you starve yourself to lose so much weight your body will try to prevent that from happening again by gaining much more weight than you were initially and you will bloat.
Also thank you to Carpsamongcats for teaching me something new and that it can be safe to lose 0.5lb and about foods that can make you bloat. That was really interesting to hear!
I’d love to be that skinny after 3 MOTH diet...
