I think people forgot that in light & shadow, her family was basically burned to death and she had to survive on her own from beating and abuse before being a “maid”

I agree. Light and shadow is dark, it had tragic events but with some readers...maybe they came across other mangas that are darker, so to them, light and shadow was quite mild.
Sorry, I meant that a people say "Golden Time" is darker than "Light & Shadow", not in comparison with other stories.
A lot of people are saying that "Light & Shadow" wasn't so dark...
I think i must have read a different story, because both his and hers stories were super super dark. Her father was a beast too, just like the fiancé of the fl in this one
